Our Team

People behind the science.

The Cardiac Translational Research Laboratory brings together scientists, research staff and trainees working across cardiovascular biology, cardiac electrophysiology and therapeutic translation.

Our Laboratory

A multidisciplinary translational research environment

Our work sits at the intersection of basic cardiovascular science, cardiac electrophysiology and therapeutic development.

Members of the laboratory bring complementary expertise in extracellular vesicle biology, inflammation, cardiac fibrosis, human cell models, preclinical disease models and the practical requirements needed to translate biological discoveries toward patients.

Darryl R. Davis, MD
Director

Darryl R. Davis, MD

Professor · Cardiac Electrophysiologist · Clinician-Scientist

Dr. Davis directs the Cardiac Translational Research Laboratory and serves as Director of Research for the Division of Cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. His research program focuses on the biological mechanisms underlying cardiac arrhythmias and their translation into new therapeutic approaches.
